The Peer Enhancement program is an optional add-on service of The Way Back Support Service.
Individuals referred to The Way Back Support Service following a suicidal crisis or suicide attempt may also opt for Peer Enhancement. This involves extra support from a Peer Care Companion, someone with a lived/living experience of suicidality. Peer Care Companions offer hope, can share learnings from lived experience, and can help individuals to understand and use safety plans. Family members of persons referred to The Way Back Support Service can also access peer support if they identify needing help to support their loved one through suicidal crisis.
