The support options we may offer include mental health treatment and counselling, peer work, drugs and alcohol support, family support, care navigation, culturally sensitive care and guidance navigating the mental health system.

MMHC provides evidence-based assessment, care coordination, information, support and treatment to individuals experiencing psychological distress.
YMMHC offers free, short-term mental health support, therapy, peer support, counselling, and care coordination

Eligibility Criteria

• Young Medicare Mental Health Centre supports those aged 16 years and over with moderate to high levels of mental health need or in distress
• Anyone can access support through Medicare Mental Health National Phone Service on 1800 595 212
• Anyone can walk into the Young centre and receive care navigation support
• A Medicare card, existing diagnosis, or GP Referral is not required to access the service

Referral Process

• Referrals can be made via the Medicare Mental Health National Phone Service on 1800 595 212, which is available weekdays 8:30am – 5pm, (excluding public holidays).
• Services can refer to MMHC by emailing can@mphn.org.au or youngmmhc@gph.org.au
• GP referrals and Mental Health Treatment Plans can be emailed to youngmmhc@gph.org.au
• Walk-ins are welcome Monday to Friday 9am -5pm
