An online evidence-based treatment for binge eating

Service Description

• Virtual support group to help participants to reduce binge eating episodes and reduce severity of symptoms using an evidence-based approach.

Operating Hours

• Runs weekly on a Thursday for 10 weeks during the 2nd, 3rd and 4th school terms
• Time: 10.30am -12.00pm

Issue of Concern

• Eating Disorders/Body Image Issues

Eligibility Criteria

• Engaging in binge eating (with or without unhelpful behaviours to control your weight or shape) on average 4 times or more per month
• Medically stable and will to be monitored by your GP throughout (as needed)
• Not currently underweight or low weight
• Not currently in CBT-E eating disorder focused treatment
• Any current treating clinicians support to participate
• Live in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District
• Have access to a desktop, laptop or iPad with camera, speakers and reliable internet

Referral Process

• Discuss with your G.P or health professional and provide consent for them to complete the referral form on your behalf and email to: mlhd-mhda-eatingdisordersupport-intake@health.nsw.gov.au
