Service Description

  • The Gidget Foundation provides free psychological counselling services delivered either by face-to-face or Telehealth.

Eligibility

  • Our services are provided to people throughout the perinatal period: from conception up until the baby is 12 months old. We offer support to those experiencing, or at risk of developing perinatal depression, anxiety, or stress-related disorders
  • Support is also provided to those people and their partners, who have experienced birth trauma or pregnancy related loss, e.g. stillbirth, miscarriage, or termination.
  • We are unable to accept referrals of people in crisis including those with:
    • Current or enduring psychotic illness;
    • Current serious suicidal or homicidal ideation; Current serious substance abuse that requires medical intervention;
    • Current child protection and/or family violence or issues requiring Department of Community and Justice involvement

  • In order to access our service, we require the completion of a Gidget Foundation Australia GP Referral and Mental Health Care Plan
